Based on my initial design ideas and using made up dimensions, I began creating mock ups to envision and gain insight into how it would look as a product. With the following tower design, I wanted each box to be attached to the next without simply attaching one to another on the base. I decided to devise a concertina-style aesthetic where the boxes can be pulled apart and put back together again.
My first mock up did not fold up correctly as I cut the same edges down one side. I noticed when putting the design together that these cut edges need to alternate in order to achieve the concertina effect. I used the dimensions 60x60x30mm (L x W x H) but evidently, this was too small to fit large contents therefore would need to be altered if I were to use this design for the final outcome.
This is the design based on the Graze packaging using a thumb hole in the front and a fold out lid. However, I noticed when creating the net that the fold of the lid which matches parallel to the back end of the packaging would need to be created separately (though there must be a simply way around this). 200 x 100 x 30mm.
