Now I just need to figure out how to create a hinge without using buckram as I really want to showcase the grey board (or wood if I intend to use that). I was talking to Sarah and she partially covered a book she created for the YCN brief in the material (only down the spine / hinge part) and only slightly covering the main cover so maybe I can try this?
Some initial formats. I think I will go for the dimensions specified by blurb (180mm x 180mm) as this is eventually how my Woodside will print their publications - due to ease and cost. However, for this project, I intend to create a one-off piece using the aforementioned specifications.
I bought some nickel and brass binding screws of varying lengths to see which would be the most effective. I also bought some standard machine screws which I think might work better as I can control the size of the publication.
