Brief 2 - Test layouts

The film magazine is a mammoth task which ideally, I should have started the layout for a couple weeks back. I began by mocking up various layouts for a feature on the film, Beasts of a Southern Wild which is a recent critically acclaimed film that has been winning multiple awards.

Fonts I've used include Montserrat — a distinctive sans-serif typeface that will be used in conjunction with a serif type; Big Caslon Pro, the serif used within my logo and Kepler, a similar serif font with a multitude of weights and styles — perfect for body copy.

Reel / Real

In my initial concepts for the magazine, one of my ideas was to play around with the alternate meaning/spelling of 'Real' and using it within the headlines i.e. Reel / Real Film reviews to give the impression they are honest but unbiased.
