The Fly
A5, staple bound magazine. The layout at times seems confusing — this might be due to the amount of full page ads but it was hard to differentiate between the content. I like the 3/4 full page photographs (img 2) so may use something similar within my own magazine. The stock is far too lightweight and the silk cover and content is something I want to avoid — I think I will go for uncoated throughout.

I think an A5, perfect bound magazine would be the perfect choice for my magazine due to its small size — they feel easier to read and are ultimately more ergonomic than reading a large-scale magazine.
Layout
I used a 3mm bleed as requested by the printer I will go with. I used 12mm margins — not too small but not too large either and a gutter of 2mm simply due to the small format of the magazine (A5). I also looked at various potential layout compositions.
