Really constructive feedback - made me realise that the video should not be as 'cryptic' as I intended and some of the transitions need a bit more work. Pleased with the positive feedback, also. I have combined the feedback from the two pairs:
Strengths
- Well done for getting action to be in time with the beats of the music
- Inbetweeners clip works best
- Music is fine, keep it how it is
- Good pace, not too fast or slow, understandable and keeps you interested
- Blog up to date - obviously you have worked really hard
- Amazing!!
- We like your clock video
- Music goes well with animations
- Simple vectors work well in terms of associating the film with imagery
Areas for improvement
- Needs to say 'Top 10 films of 2011' in the intro
- Could look into making th emovie titles more obvious
- First reel of film could be improved / changed, could look at something more attention-grabbing
Considerations
- Including type makes it seem as if it is the content of the show rather than the intro - maybe it gives too much away Maybe where the text is it could say things like 'created by...'
- Have you considered packaging? Need to do this soon
- What are you doing for idents?
- Transitions could be more effective between films
- Look into ways that you can link film to film e.g. simple linear movement
Action Plan
- Glitch in 'The Inbetweeners' text - needs to cut out earlier
- More clarification - focus moreso on the type? Enlarge?
- Work on initial transitions so the imagery flows more from film to film
- 'Planet of the Apes' text glitch - rises slightly
- Monkey expression too quick and moves out of the frame too fast (extend keyframes slightly)
- Make astronaut imagery more clear - oxygen tube? Light reflection? Stars in background?
- Blog more storyboards and hand-rendered development
- Add to the idea generation posts (vector illustrations)
- Finish title sequence and add the title itself
- How do I take the idents from the sequence?
- ...and add the logo, title, time, date and so on
- Start packaging development
